Reduce the risk is a programme that is only available in Doncaster. The aim of the programme is to make young people aware of the dangers and risks they face when under taking certain behaviors. Future Pathways offers Reduce the Risk as part of PSD sessions.
Future Pathways regularly invites people from other organisations to visit the office and talk to the learners about topics that are relevant to them. Recently the learners have had talks from Victim Support, Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice, Platform 2 and Better Deal.
The learners have also participated in many sessions covering a wide range of topics including basic first aid, food hygiene and healthy eating.
When the learners have completed fifteen hours of the programme and have evidence in their portfolio they are invited to an awards ceremony in which they receive a certificate and lunch. This year's awards ceremony took place at Doncaster college on the 4th June.
