Success for igen on the Leeds Approved Provider List

Leeds City Council has announced igen as an approved provider of careers guidance services to schools in Leeds.

Following a tendering round igen has been selected for the Leeds Approved List of Providers for the Provision of Careers Guidance Services to Schools.

From September 2012 schools will have a legal duty to ensure their pupils have access to independent and impartial careers guidance. Schools are seen to be best placed to make decisions about the kind of support that will meet the needs of their pupils. Schools will be free to exercise their professional judgement in determining arrangements for careers guidance that best suit the needs of their pupils in years 9 – 11.

Schools can procure independent careers guidance and related services directly from providers.

In response to the need for schools to procure independent impartial Careers Guidance , Leeds City Council has developed the Approved Provider list for Careers Guidance to support schools to choose a provider that offers high quality careers guidance and related services.
