igen expands into Goole

igen have started delivery of Nextstep Adult Careers Guidance Programme and the Employability Skills Programme (ESP) in Google.

Both programmes help to support Jobcentre Plus (JCP) customers who want to improve their level of maths and English and also tackle barriers to entering employment.

Nextstep is available to any adults aged 20 and above. Qualified careers advisers deliver Information, Advice and Guidance to improve career prospects, obtain a qualification or make the most of your job. A subsequent more in depth session is available if required for clients who have obtained below a level 3 qualification. The sessions include:

  • Improving your job prospects
  • Thinking about returning to work or a change of direction
  • Updating your skills and qualifications
  • Getting into learning
  • Childcare, funding and where to go for help if you have a disability
  • Deciding what to do next......?
  • Choosing the right job for you
  • Succeeding at interviews
  • Information on training and courses
  • Adult Learning Grants

The Employability Skills Programme offers learners one to one support, individual learning plans and work placements. The programme lasts an average of 20 hours per week for 12 weeks and prepares people to enter the job market.

  • Increased literacy, numeracy and employability skills.
  • The equivalent of a GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths
  • CV Writing
  • Job Application and interview Techniques
  • IT Skills
  • Team work and confidence building skills
