7,000 students attended Leeds and North Yorkshire HE Fair

Leeds and North Yorkshire HE Fair 2009

The Leeds and North Yorkshire HE Fair returned to the Leeds Met University in June, welcoming 140 exhibitors and over 7,000 students.

The HE Fair is a valuable resource for students thinking about going onto Higher Education with exhibitors from leading Universities, organisations offering degrees alongside work based training and gap year opportunities.

Leeds and North Yorkshire HE FairThe 2009 event was the biggest yet, with the amalgamation of the North Yorkshire HE Fair with Leeds attracting visitors from over 80 schools across West and North Yorkshire over two days.

To ensure students gained the maximum benefit from the HE Fair, a series of seminars were held on issues including student finance, gap years and an introduction to University life.

Visitors were also given the opportunity to look around the University Campus and get a feeling for what it is like to attend a University.

Feedback from the event showed that the event has a huge success and was an informative and useful event to help students plan their next steps after leaving school and college.

This annual event is organised by igen and run on behalf of UCAS and HELOA.
