The office at Coverdale House provides training, information, advice, guidance and personal development services to young people and adults. This includes:
Entry to Employment (e2e)
Aimed at young people aged 16-18 who are not involved in post-16 learning. It develops their motivation and confidence as well as basic and key skills. From e2e, young people have the skills they need to progress into further learning, modern apprenticeships or employment. nextstep
In Leeds the Adult Careers Advisers provide a range of services to clients. At the core of our service is: ‘Help and support to adults in making realistic decisions about their future in terms of learning and work’. The main contract that staff are involved in is the national nextstep adult IAG service.
The priority clients are those who have yet to achieve a first full level two qualification. The team deliver the service primarily away from our East Parade offices, either in Job Centres, community venues, employers premises as well as HMP Armley. As well as nextstep the IAG team deliver the Skills Coaching program for Job Centre Plus and IAG services for a number of work based learning providers.

The careergen service offers individuals help and support to make realistic decisions about their future in terms of learning and work. Experienced Careers Advisers look at people’s skills, experience and interests to help them make decisions about what the best careers options are whether they are looking to change careers or develop the career they are already in.
As well as offering a Careers Advisory Service, careergen also offers Psychometric Testing using a series of assessments to provide information about the type of careers that would best suit a person followed by a feedback session with tailored advice.
Since becoming part of Future Pathway during 2007 the cost for careergen services has reduced in line with igen’s not for profit ethos and as a result has led to the service being accessible to a greater number of clients.
