Working with young people

It has been long recognised that there is a cohort of young people for whom mainstream activity post statutory education, such as further education (FE) or employment is not an immediate option. This may be because of poor levels of educational achievement, social or emotional problems.

Future Pathways has been committed to working with such young people for many years, raising aspirations and helping the young people to achieve functional literacy and numeracy, ultimately realising the potential of each and every learner.

Entry to Employment (e2e)
e2e targets young people aged 16-19 years who have not yet achieved a level 2 qualification (such as 5 GCSE’s or above) and provides a programme incorporating personal and social development; basic and key skills and work experience to ready them for apprenticeships and work. To find out more about e2e click here.

Future Pathways leads a partnership of 12 organisations for the delivery of e2e in Leeds. The programme is funded through the UK’s Learning and Skills Council (LSC)

Entry to Vocational Learning (e2v)
For those learners who require motivation and capacity building activities prior to accessing e2e, work based learning, FE or employment, the e2v programme is offered, a LSC Tees Valley local programme.

Both programmes offer a combination of formal and informal learning. For example, addressing literacy and numeracy gaps, utilising the mediums of art, music, dance, IT and organisations that provide work experience.

Please read our case studies.
