Murphy had worked for a leading supermarket and wanted a change of career but was unsure about what direction to take. Initially he had considered entering a manual trade but after completing an Adult Direction programme with a nextstep adviser he discovered a range of options he had not previously considered. The session took into account his skills and interests to look at all possible career options.
With a new confidence in his skills, Murphy worked with his adviser to produce a CV which he could use to approach specialist employment agencies and upload to online jobsite. Within days of his appointment Murphy was contacted by a leading recruitment agency regarding a sales/customer service position with HBOS.
In preparation for his interview Murphy drew on the interview information his nextstep advise had given him and was successful in beating the competition and secured the job.
